Mel takes Miki through a rain-soaked scrap market, looking for a part to fix his broken leg. While he haggles with a vendor, a group of children approaches the cart. For a moment, it looks like they just want to pet Miki. Then they start throwing stones. In this episode, I wanted to show what everyday life looks like in Mel’s world. People make a living selling whatever they can pull from the wreckage, and even children can turn an animal’s fear into a game. All Mel wants is to get Miki home.
