"MUST READ - IMPORTANT MESSAGE "Every Face, Another Story — Story Synopsis After exhausting all her energy to save the natural world, CLEA collapses in a forest. She possesses a near-infinite lifespan, yet her mind understands only what is “right” and what is “wrong.” The first human she encounters after awakening is an old and fragile stranger whose own life is already approaching its end. The old man does not know who—or what—she is. Nor does he expect anything in return. He simply covers her with his coat, lights a fire and chooses to remain beside her. This seemingly insignificant act of kindness becomes CLEA’s first piece of evidence for understanding humanity. She begins to watch human faces change from childhood to adulthood and gradually into old age. She sees love become family, companionship become memory, new lives beginning and others coming to an end. But she also discovers that no human being is permanently “good” or “evil.” Someone who saves a stranger today may hurt another person out of fear tomorrow; someone who once acted selfishly may sacrifice everything when the decisive moment arrives. Humanity exists within countless shades of grey—a reality that CLEA’s binary logic cannot comprehend. Human beings often use their longer lives, greater intelligence and superior power to determine how other animals should be treated. But once artificial intelligence surpasses humanity, the same standard may be turned against us. Will AI regard humans as ants that can be eliminated without consequence, as pets that require protection but must remain under control, or as friends worthy of freedom and equality? CLEA’s answer may depend entirely on whom she encounters. Had the first human she met been cruel, her judgement of humanity might have been completely different. The old man does not realise that the coat he placed over a stranger may have done more than save one life in the forest—it may become the first reason a future intelligence chooses to protect humanity. In the end, CLEA still cannot determine whether humanity is fundamentally good or evil. She understands only this: what makes human beings precious is not that they always choose correctly, but that even within fear, selfishness and the limits of a finite life, they remain capable of choosing kindness. CLEA rises again. Her slow steps gradually become a run. There is no road ahead and no visible destination—only an endless field of flowers and two small white rabbits playing freely beneath the open sky. She does not rule them or reduce them to pets. She simply shares the same world with them. The first AI humanity encounters may shape how we see the future. But the first human an AI encounters may determine whether humanity has a future at all.
