YAOYO Privacy Policy
Last Updated: August 19, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how YAOYO, Inc., a Delaware corporation ("YAOYO," "we," "us"), collects, uses, and shares personal information when you use yaoyo.tv and related services (the "Service").
Operator change notice. As of July 2026, the Service is operated by YAOYO, Inc., which is the data controller for personal information processed through the Service. This Policy replaces prior versions that identified MBR G.K. (MBR合同会社) as the operator.
1. Information We Collect
Information you provide:
- Account information: email address, username, password (stored in hashed form by our authentication provider), and optional profile details (display name, bio, avatar, links, country).
- Content and activity you choose to make public: uploaded works, tool tags, comments, likes, ratings, follows, gifts sent, and Fan Club membership indicators.
- Purchase information: when you buy Stars or Fan Club subscriptions, our payment processor (Stripe) collects your payment card details. We do not store your full card number. We receive transaction records (amount, status, limited card metadata such as brand and last four digits).
- Creator payout information: to pay Creators we collect payout details. In supported countries, bank details are collected directly by Stripe through Stripe Connect hosted onboarding (we store the account reference and status, not your bank numbers). In countries paid via Wise, we collect the recipient details you enter, register them with Wise, and then retain only the Wise recipient reference and a masked summary — we do not keep your full bank account number or full address in our database after registration.
- Tax and verification information where required (e.g., tax forms, identity verification handled by our payout providers).
- Communications you send us (e.g., support emails).
Information collected automatically:
- Usage data: pages viewed, works watched, watch time and playback quality (via Mux Data), searches, interactions, and referral information.
- Device and log data: IP address, browser type, device identifiers, language, timestamps, and error logs.
- Cookies and similar technologies as described in our Cookie Policy.
2. How We Use Information
We use personal information to:
- Provide and operate the Service (accounts, streaming, uploads, discovery, rankings);
- Process purchases, calculate Creator earnings, and make payouts;
- Verify identity, prevent fraud and abuse, and enforce our Terms of Service;
- Communicate with you about the Service (transactional emails, announcements, support);
- Analyze and improve the Service (aggregate analytics, performance, quality of experience);
- Comply with legal obligations (tax, accounting, sanctions, lawful requests).
Where GDPR or similar laws apply, our legal bases are performance of a contract, legitimate interests (e.g., securing and improving the Service), legal obligation, and consent where required.
3. How We Share Information
We do not sell your personal information. We share it with:
- Service providers (processors) that help us run the Service, currently including: Supabase (database, authentication, storage), Vercel (hosting), Mux (video processing, delivery, and analytics), Stripe (payments and Connect payouts), Wise (payouts), Cloudflare (DNS/network), and Resend (email delivery). These providers process data on our behalf under contractual safeguards.
- Other users / the public, for information that is public by design (your profile, works, comments, gifts displayed on works, rankings, membership counts).
- Authorities or other parties when required by law, to protect rights and safety, or to enforce our terms.
- Corporate transactions: in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, personal information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to this Policy.
4. International Transfers
We are a U.S. company and process data in the United States and other countries where our providers operate. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards (such as standard contractual clauses) for transfers from the EEA, UK, and other regions. By using the Service, users outside the U.S. understand that their information will be transferred to and processed in the U.S.
5. Retention
We keep personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service, and afterwards as necessary for legitimate business purposes (e.g., transaction and tax records, fraud prevention, legal compliance). We then delete or anonymize it.
6. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect personal information (encryption in transit, access controls, least-privilege service keys). No system is completely secure; please use a strong, unique password.
7. Your Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your personal information, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to withdraw consent.
- EEA/UK (GDPR): you have the rights above and the right to lodge a complaint with your supervisory authority.
- California (CCPA/CPRA): you have the right to know, delete, correct, and to non-discrimination. We do not sell or share personal information as defined by the CPRA.
- Japan (APPI): we handle personal information of users in Japan in accordance with the Act on the Protection of Personal Information, including rules on provision to third parties located outside Japan. You may request disclosure, correction, or cessation of use of your retained personal data.
To exercise any rights, contact hello@yaoyo.tv from the email address on your account. We may need to verify your identity. You can also update profile information and cancel subscriptions directly in the Service.
8. Children
The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us personal information, contact hello@yaoyo.tv and we will delete it.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. For material changes we will provide notice (e.g., in-Service announcement or email). The "Last Updated" date above shows when this Policy was last revised.
